I wish I could take your pain away.
With words of reassurance saying
He’ll turn around and stay

I wish I could take your pain away,
With our lips touching promising
He’ll understand you someday

I wish I could take your pain away.
With our naked bodies pressing
He’ll take the love you give

Before you lose more hope,
Before you stop trying,
Before you replace it with hate or indifference.

I wish I could take the pain away
And tell you as you long for your father
That everything will be okay.
