Hope In Parting (Senryu) Poem by Leslie Alexis

Hope In Parting (Senryu)

Restless I lay here
My mind on the yesterday,
On the dreams I had,

On the storms that rose
To take my dreams away, like
A flood. With no time

For me to goodbye,
My dreams floated into dreams
Big sky: a haven,

Where dreams birth again,
Given wings like bird of prey,
To live one more day.

So dearest of dreams,
See you in the sky, where dreams
Are given new lives.

Like beautiful birds
You'll soar to lands far away,
Your limit, your sight,

You'll come near; closer
With each flap of your new wing,
You'll push beyond your

Yesterday, into
Tomorrow's vast and open
Possibilities.
