How I Love You Poem by Khauri Teverbaugh

How I Love You

Rating: 5.0

Peacefully the morning started
each lover in the other's arms lay
she reveled at the rise and fall of his chest
and how he made her hips swirl and sway
he savored her warm legs entangled in his
and the soft moans of remembrance
across her lips

Suddenly a flash in her dream
in which he rambled lines upon lines
of thigh trembling deeds, of knee buckling scenes
her whole body was about to give over to it
only to find the words were not for her to squirm over it

Heart racing, tears streaming
chest heaving, she pushed him away
angry she sputtered words without delay
“how could you” and “why don't you”
were the only thoughts her flustered mind
could arrange
She turned...he grabbed her,
embraced her, eyes pleading
softly he told her
“I can not love you that way
“You are not a goal to be reached
with you there is no game or attempt to
breach between your legs for fun...
“That is how a plaything is treated...
How I refuse to treat you, my dear loved one”

“I would rather laugh and play,
caress your soul,
cherish you forever and always.
She laid her head across the expanse of his chest
Where finally her tears landed there to rest.
He pulled her into him once more,
legs wrapped around his waist he sought out her lips

Peacefully the morning started
each lover in the other's arms lay
she reveled at the rise and fall of his chest
and how he made her hips swirl and sway
he savored her warm legs entangled in his
and the soft moans of remembrance
across her lips, 'This is how I love you'
