How To Live A Christian Life? Poem by Richmon Rey Jundis

How To Live A Christian Life?

(A Utilitarian Poem)

Remember what Christ had taught us
Through a parable of a suffering tiny seed,
That was sown and buried under the ground
Could bear much fruits for many.
A death of one
Can be a life of many.

Remember how Christ cried at Gethsemane's garden,
As the blood and sweat mixed to His tears
When he accepted His Father's request.
A loneliness of one
Can lead to the happiness of all.

Notice how the humility of the Son of Man,
Led Himself to the hands of Sanhedrin
And paved way for us to be uplifted.
A surrender of one
Can be celebrated by everybody.

Notice how the pain of Christ
As He carried the cross on the Calvary
And suffered until death
Opened up the gate of everlasting joy
To the life of eternity.
A pain of one
Can be the source of joy for many.

Look how the death of Christ
When He shouted His last farewell,
As He was hanging on the cross,
Gave us a chance to greet a larger family
Somewhere in a place they call Heaven.
One goodbye
Can lead to new hellos.

So, never be afraid to let go,
For through only losing
That many shall gain new things from light,
And through only loosing
That many shall rejoice in victory.
Remember, utilitarian is a Christian way.
