Humanity Poem by Cyclopseven R

Humanity

a man with only one leg
boarded a bus once in the past
with wooden crutches supporting his whole body
beneath his armpits
he stood on the aisle
staring at every eyes seated comfortably;
no voice ensued
eyes that watch didn’t care to see him
he stood for almost 5 minutes
a language expressed clearly
through the contour on his face
seeking humanity in humility;
a sudden brake stopped the bus
he dropped the crutches
a sign that even the driver didn’t care,
but he managed to grasp the railing above
thus prevented a nasty fall;
still none bothered
but a blind man sense the sound of crutches
that missed the grip of humanity;
and he vacated his ground
for the poor man with one leg to sit;
the eyes neglected of vision
still managed to see predicament
of another unfortunate soul,
I was hurt and I prayed
God.....why didn’t you give me a stronger pair of legs
so I could have given my portion of the travel
to the poor man with one leg
and the blind man remain seated well throughout the journey;
vulnerability took hold of me
helpless I was then
but, I knew
to him belongs the heaven
who still fight to see without being able to see.
