I Am An Indian Poem by Chandrashekar a posy poet

I Am An Indian

I am an Indian
Who was conquered and cursed
For centuries by canny cons

I am an Indian
Whose wealth looted and dreams destroyed
by ghastly designs of greedy

I am an Indian
Who was sold and stamped
Only to exploit for a pittance

I am an Indian
Who was long hunted and haunted
For fun and pleasure at ease

I am an Indian
Who endeared and embraced
The demons demeanor with grace and pace

I am an Indian
Who fought vicious adversaries
With the weapon named nonviolence

Yet,
I am an Indian
Who is humbled by love and
Yielded by humility

Yeah,
I am an Indian
Who comes with the vivid gifts
Of an ancient wisdom

Yep,
I am an Indian
Who spreads the fragrance of peace
And savors the flavours of friendship

Yes,
I am an Indian
Who harvests unity from the seeds of
Diversity

Oh man!
I am an Indian
Who taps and teaches the treasures of
Kamasutra

Still,
I am an Indian
Who mastered the might of Yoga
To shun the plight of Roga

Well,
I am an Indian
Who weaves and wears the fabric
Of harmony and civility

Again,
I am an Indian
Who admires the sanctity of art and
Adores the spirit of science

Yet again,
I am an Indian
Who appeals time and again to one and all
To redeem the fruits of humanity
