I Am My Own... Poem by James Darwin Smith II

I Am My Own...

Rating: 5.0

Last in line
Words printed in encouragement
Floating away in the dust
Yet, there at the end
Is the artist
Being passionate
About the art they love the most

Creating and creating
One after another
Archives from the heart, mind and soul
Inspiring to always be better
As these universal creations
Travels galaxies
That it has never been before

No help, nothing
Accomplishing it all alone
No celebration anywhere
Just doing it is something very special to behold

Bleeding through
Errors and all
Organic to self
Never selling out
To those who say
Things need to be a certain way

Last in line
Everyone else so far ahead
But to be alone is to be true to one self
Never becoming something of the same
Always striving to be as original as one can be

It may sound lonely
But to be free
Is worth the sacrifice
Of being a lone poet
Traveling beyond the parallels
Of emotions and dreams
Imagination and everything in between

Limits are always meant to be broken
Even if one might feel out of place

The greatest puzzle
Is one that should take forever to solve
Maybe never

Writing on
As fearless as fearless can be

I am my own kind
Even if anything makes no sense at all

At the end of it all

I am on my own…
