I Believe Poem by Mark Heathcote

I Believe

I believe in the Frankincense bird.
Drinking Frankincense Tree Tears
Drinking on the dew from heaven
And on frankincense blossoms

I believe in a mythical bird.
The phoenix, a temptress to my soul
I believe in light and demons.
I believe in goodness, not illusions.

I believe if I can stay focused
I'll find love and love will find me
I believe -there are many dreamers.
Many more dreamers, dreamers like me

Do you believe me?
Do you drink stars and meander?
Or fall into a single lover's arms.
Drinking tears and dew from heavenly blossoms.

My heart cannot be charred.
Cinders are the petals of yesteryear.
The more flames that encircle me
The better I'll blossom too, the better I'll be.
