I Can Dance Poem by Dave Tendell

I Can Dance

I wear my trusty blue jeans that hang below my waist in the back,
It’s not my fault- I was just born with such a high crack.
My belly may jiggle well over my favorite pants,
But I got the moves; I get down when I dance.

I may be overweight more than 100 pounds,
But I am light on my feet, as funny as it sounds.
I move and spin perfectly to the beat.
Snapping my fingers, and shuffling my feet.

I get down and move,
when I dance to the groove.
I shake my butt from side to side;
bumping people off the dance floor with nowhere to hide.
