I Can Sense It Coming Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Can Sense It Coming

Rating: 4.5

I can sense it coming
I hear it from within
The words are here
A poem-

But whether what I feel as a poem
Is a poem
Is another question-

Words come
Perhaps they are only prose -

Not every sound which comes from within is beautiful
And not every word I wait to hear is a poem-

Should I stop here
Or is this already enough for now?

I can also feel when a poem is stirring within. Many times the result is not what I desire, so I tweak to shape, develop and perfect it—turning it into something acceptable and to my liking. As poets, sometimes we just have to toil with a certain piece. ‘Tis the poet birthing and nurturing a poem.

Nice question posed and the cliffhanger of an ending is well conceived. Very good.
