I Dare Myself To Call You Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Dare Myself To Call You

I dare myself to call you, my darling
At every opportunity, every time
Hoping to see a slip of a tongue
Of you responding, of you replying
In the same manner. So far, no luck
No error, no mistake, not even a buck
Found lost in the coffer of my dream
I brought you bread, candy and ice-cream
To sweeten you, nothing yet, but hope
Is unpredictable. A resigning pope
Was unheard of a few years ago
No, my mind is not in a funnel of fiasco
I am simply thinking of the possibilities
And of the eventual probabilities
Try to understand the feelings of love
Way up, in the heaven, a lonely dove
Is always traveling and waiting for the right time
To land and for the perfect season to chime
The bells of the cathedral. I am hoping very soon
Everything will fall into place. I will see spoon
Knife, fork and a single plate for you and me
To dive in, you know what I mean, sweet honey
You will use all the epithets in the dictionary
To reward me for my patience, sweetness and resiliency
You will call me everything under the bright moon
And you will shower and powder me under the sun
With sweet kisses, with delicate and delicious words
Oh! Lord that'll be the hours of ultimate prizes and rewards.
