'I Do' Poem by Brian Barnett

'I Do'

Do you know how many people there are around the world?
Well, it's 7 billion - give or take a few,
So isn't it amazing we can find the very one
That makes us want to say those words, 'I Do.'

You can buy each other presents to put around a tree,
Or Valentines to show your love is true.
But the greatest gift of all is to stand here face to face
And utter those two simple words, 'I Do.'

You must enjoy your years together, whatever they may bring,
With dreams and schemes to share your lifetime through,
And on each anniversary you can celebrate the day
You chose to say those special words, 'I Do.'
