I Do Not Listen To Myself Poem by Abdul Wahab

I Do Not Listen To Myself

I shall never tell what
you want me to say
or what you want to
listen. As I am not born
to agree to anything
in fact I do not agree
to myself, The rebel
in me always struggles
to win for the defeated
or I am not alive to oil
your leg, I am ready to
die to be a voice for the
dumb, power for the
powerless, justice for
the weak and food for
the thoughtless, I am
not at all at peace, a war
is 24/7 within me, the war
is not against any terrorist,
my great enemy is my
own hypocrisy, day by day
I am losing ground, my lies
make me defenceless, what
should I listen to you, I do not
listen to myself, defeats
I do not care as I win
the prize for being an honest.
