I Don't Understand Your Explanation Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I Don't Understand Your Explanation

No one misses,
What they have not yet...
To get to receive or give.
Including wishing for love.

If it is not felt to feel.
Or has been experienced.
What for them is expected?
Proof?

From where?
Do people like this come from?
To await for this done?
And from who to know,
The feeling and meaning of it...
Will have enough patience,
To teach to another...
Steps to take to teach,
How to accept...
Doubt, disappointment.
With a doing of being aware,
Of who lies and cheats.
Just to heat up fresh sheets.
Or call in early hours,
Before the Sun begins to rise.
Attempting to disguise,
A sneaking around.
Time and time again!

This to do and connect,
What is distant from a mind...
Light years away.
Too deep and spaced out.
As if to stay that way.
Could be deterimental,
For someone who pretends...
Love for them,
Has left...
Expressing to admit,
Love has been for them...
Much better,
To commit to one night stands.
And not confessing a wish,
For love to get or it missed.
Until...
The weekends arrive!

'I don't understand,
Your explanation.'

'Good!
And...
If you are fortunate enough,
You never will.'
