I Felt.. Poem by Jessica Someone

You were lying by my side,
Your head rested on me; sleeping.
My hand in yours, my eyes watching you.
It was a dream now reality.

Inside I felt warmth. I felt happiness.
I felt like there was nowhere I’d rather be;
Nothing I’d rather be doing.
It felt perfect. You and me; together.

I felt love.

As you slowly woke,
I felt your hand caress mine.
Your head gradually turned to look up at me.
I gazed into your eyes and smiled.

When you left, I couldn’t erase the grin,
Thinking of the night just passed.
It was a night I had longed for for so long.

That night is a memory I’ll hold with me always.
It’ll continue to make me smile, and even cry.
It was perfect…

… then I remembered her.
