I Forgive You

I forgive you for not loving me
Going far away in your heart
I just couldn't make you see
I always loved you from the start

I forgive you for not being strong
When things got a bit to hard
Not seeing how you were wrong
Love and years you can discard

I forgive you for not trying
Even though your life was good
More joy than crying
Not doing what you should

I forgive you for not caring
All we shared these years
Couldn't be so daring
To face some of your fears

I forgive you for not trusting
In the wonder that  we shared
All the love bursting
Surrounded by endless care

I forgive you for not being you
Having lost your heart and soul
Not seeing what is right and true
I know you will pay a heavy toll

    All the love bursting
Surrounded by endless care I really liked that line a lot. Great work!

Your words are so powerful Dom.......I love your poems.....they ring true. I have changed one of my poems
I'm pretty new to this stuff...but it's nice belonging to a creative community: -)

    Verum et Amicitia
Do you feel the weight press against you?
The weight of cold pressing truth.
Does it force the guilt from your pores like oil?
No..I see it is light as a bubble.... truth lifting its way out of you
With a merry grin and promises of eternal friendship?
Oh..the divine freedoms of nothing more!
Alas, loves confusion is my bed of nails,
And, it seems I am tucked down tight.
My too high pillow is stuffed full of whispered wishes
And wet with a river of tears.
Oh what delicious torment to be started through happenstance!
What does it matter if purity of intention,
Holds me from freedom of heart
    If both leave me lonely?

If I should die, think only this of me:

That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
