I Had Loved You So Poem by Randy McClave

I Had Loved You So

I knew that you were untrue to me
But, I decided to remain quiet,
I closed my eyes so that I couldn't see
It took all of my soul and might.
I just didn't want you to ever leave,
In you I truly did love and did believe.

I knew that you had gone astray
And it literally broke my soul and heart,
And for you I still did constantly pray
As I didn't want you to ever depart.
I could not ever imagine of me finding anyone better,
I still remember my first love letter.

I knew that you were cheating and lying
And that you were also seeing someone new,
That truth and the fact is I just kept on denying
Because I truly, and deeply loved you.
I gave you love, and my loyalty and a home,
And all that you wanted to do was to roam.

I know that you once had again cheated
But, I decided to remain devoted and silent,
My faith and my belief in you was then finally defeated
But, I swore that I would not ever become violent.
I just didn't want to ever let you go
Because, I had loved you so.
