I Imagined Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Imagined

I Imagined

I imagined the world
In yellow and pink.
The world floated by
In this imaginary ink.

I tried to write
With these colors at hand.
But it seemed impossible
To scribble in the sand.

I wanted my world
To be yellow and pink.
It was not going to let me.
So what I wanted I couldn't see.

My imagination was largely ignored.
My imagination could not soar.
This world would do what it would do.
This world was not made of yellow and pink.
