I'Ll Remember You Poem by Aidan Clevinger

I'Ll Remember You

You tell me that you have to go,
You've got to make a fresh start.
Well, my friend, don't you worry,
For in the depths of my heart:

I'll remember you.

When the sun is shining on my face,
And I hear the bluebirds singing.
Whether the clouds are heavy or light,
No matter what the day is bringing,

I'll remember you.

When the stars are hung up in the sky,
When the sunset is painted red.
When there's nowhere else upon the Earth
That I'd rather be instead.

I'll remember you.

And when I'm laughing with our old friends
Or when in bed I lie.
If you being gone should ever hurt,
I'll laugh instead of cry.

I'll remember you.

For you, my friend, have touched my heart,
You've changed me in a special way.
And now that you're going I need you to know,
So one more time I'll say:

I'll remember you.
