I Love This Guy Poem by Cory Fox

I Love This Guy

Imagine watching “Meet Joe Black”
We’re all crying and sad
But someone’s laughing at the back
Yeah, that guy is my dad

I bought him floaties for the pool
He brought them to the beach
I said game consoles are kind of cool
Now we’ve got three of each

When I lose him in a store
His handy laugh is nice
His wine mug holds a bottle or more
But never without ice

But when it comes to life
His door is always open
I can trust him with my strife
When I fear my heart is broken

Although I may bring out his worst
And though I may poke fun
When it comes to family first
My dad can’t be outdone
Happy Fathers day, dear dad
From your adoring son
