I'M Fine Poem by Nia Schexnider

I'M Fine

Alright, ok, I’m fine,

I thought you were divine,

But I was lost in your beautiful face,

Thought I had found my place,

But if you cannot forget the past,

Then your burdens will amass,

And I cannot carry them for you,

I wish I could my love,

Because I would have stayed by your side,

I would have been your guide.

I would have held your hand,

I would have treated you like a man.

But if you say you will never change,

I’ll believe you, and leave you.

As that is what you asked of me.

I only wished that you could see.

That you are more beautiful than the moon,

More wonderful than a new day,

More amazing than the sun.

But you just couldn’t have fun.

It’s ok if you won’t miss me, go.

And never look back.

But I’ll always miss you.

And what could have been.

And the dreams I had with you.

And the love I have for you.

Alright, ok, I’m not fine.
