I Only Had One Heart
I gave you the most precious thing I had
and you disdainfully took it for granted
you set it out to dry, abandoned, forgotten,
collecting dust
and now you want me to give you my heart again?
but that's just not possible,
for I only had one heart to give
for I only had one heart to give, so true. That ungrateful one, that does not know how to appreciate love given. Dare not to ask again, to forgive is entirely different than being a fool.
