I Quit Sugar Poem by Paula Glynn

I Quit Sugar

I don't need that sugar,
But I do need sweetness,
But a sweetness from a pure heart.
I need guidence from a true love,
That resides in this lonely heart.

I quit sugar from today;
That cheap sugar,
That make men drip with sour sweetness,
And their sugar has broken this heart;
That sugar pure poison and cold.

I need real love in my life,
I need a pure heart, a real love,
And I will find these things,
No matter my bank balance,
Because my love is no longer cheap;
I don't need that deceit.

I need walk no floor, tears in my eyes,
I need no more of those evil lies,
I just need to look into my heart,
And look into my mind,
To find a love that is beautiful,
And not unkind.
