I See A Girl Poem by beautiful imperfection

I See A Girl

I see a girl,
Crying all alone,
I see a girl
Sitting still as stone.
I see a girl
Hidden beneath
Shadows of a haunted past
And a thousand griefs.
I see a girl,
Lost and confused,
Wondering if this is the last time
She will ever be used.
I see a girl,
Fragile and afraid
That her efforts in this world
Will be left unpaid.
I see a girl
Stifling screams and moans,
and although she’s surrounded by many people,
she feels so alone.
Who is this girl?
ME.
But who would’ve guessed?
No one really knows me,
My masks just won’t let me confess.
The girl you think you know
Has just another painted on smile
Forced on her face
By her many trials.
I see a girl
Who denies that everything’s wrong,
And nothing is right,
Although inside she’s known the truth all along.
I see a girl
Who runs from her fear.
And tries to hide
A million tears.
And that girl is
ME.
ME.
ME.
