I thought you were perfect
I thought you were loyal,
And I thought you truthful
And never disloyal.
I thought you were honest
I thought you would tell no lies,
And I thought you were caring
And I thought I was wise.
I thought you were true
I thought you were kind,
And I thought you were devout
And I thought you were refined.
I thought you were beautiful
I thought you were original,
And I thought you were respectful
And I thought you were traditional.
I thought you were trustworthy
I thought you were a saint,
And I thought you had a good soul;
But, you ain't.
My brain you fooled
My senses you had awoken,
And my ears you tricked
My heart you broken.
