I Will Dig Gently Until Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Will Dig Gently Until

Darling, I will dig gently until I find
The hidden diamond, the very core
Of the soul. I am knocking on the door.
The sky is clear blue. Be sweet and kind.
The parrots are watching with interest.
Close the blind, so I can tell you the rest.
I will not pause until I see you reaching
The summit of the mountain. Be patient.
There is no need to haste at this very moment.
Sip the good wine slowly, from winter to spring.
