Heart of life, Soul of light
Child of love, Father of
compassion
I come to be humbled
enraptured by love
hidden and untroubled
captured, not deprived of
Life, from the womb
I've been torn, into You
that afternoon, that hospital room
I was born, to pursue
Light, in this new room
squinting at first
my soul began to bloom
of You. I'd thirst
for Love, the child
our Sun, brightly lit
galaxies upon galaxies compiled
The Way, and He would see to it.
Compassion, I drink of You
puzzled as to where I've tasted love
like sweet morning dew
of the sunrise innocent of
committing to it's sight
hoping to leave before
the afternoon day-light
afraid to be out anymore
though sweet
I will not be
complete
as morning dew
I wish to be free
otherwise I'd be untrue
to the sunrise of our hearts
to the wholeness of our souls
to the unbrokenness of our love
to the Father of our compassion.
Love, I will not give up on You.

Well written Amanda...I enjoyed this piece very much. The last line and the stanza prior were very powerful and memorable. Ten from me! -Michael
