I Would Speak Of Love Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

I Would Speak Of Love

I would speak of love as a token of my appreciation
My worth becoming a first step where my foot shall land
Though I can not withdraw myself from the world's extremities,
Also, I would not purge my soul to feed such

I would speak of love as a scale
If it goes beyond the bond, it shall lose me
An extra mile would pawn my peace for anxiety
Such not a story I vow to tell by the crossroads

Come night and day, my heart longs to give
But for every taken journey, awaits no pleasant fate
A horizon which the heart wishes to make a peaceful home
When done sucking the flood of tears

I would speak of love as a rain of no seasons
When it falls, grounds that receive count as blessings
