If I Should Shed Another Tear Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

If I Should Shed Another Tear

I wish I could remember it all
But everyday pieces of our memories fade
Even my heart worry less than before
It no longer get arrested in the past - - >You.
Day by day, the wounds you've left,
are healing
It feels like a new day has come
My soul is filled up with laughter
Like it never cried for people like you before
Confidence of facing my life without you in the picture,
has filled my heart
Drowning down my fears
Telling me that I was born alone
So, I can be the one to make myself happy
Alone I've learnt to smile
Even when you've abandoned my love for you
All I meant, was to love you
All that, I did. You and god knows
What a broken man I became when you left.
Just another disappointed man
by love under the shade of the sun
Whose heart got wrecked and now asking,
'If love is so nice, tell me what it hurts so much'?
So, if I should shed another tear,
It wouldn't be for you
My heart remembers no more of you
It's been for hours, days, weeks and months
Even some alphabets which form your name are falling,
From where they are written
Inside my heart
The inside of me no longer brew tears for you
If I should shed another tear,
It won't be for you, Ma Cherie
It would be for the new risks I'm taking
Since you are the old that failed me
It will fall for this new risks if the failed me
By then, you'll just be a somebody I used to know
Another old sharp razor that is now blunt
Old sharp razor which caused my heart to bleed a lot of pain
Another memory that hurts no more
Because of you, my heart has cried an ocean of tears
If I should shed another tear, Senorita,
It won't be for you

If only everyone hurt by love lost could realize quickly that the pain will eventually fade and then disappear, their tears could be saved for other things. Great poem, Ndina. Thanks for sharing. Peace
