I WROTE A GOOD POEM YESTERDAY

I wrote a good poem yesterday
It held together
It told its own story
It had a completeness within itself
Its thought was clear
It had feeling
It was good for what I can do
It did not have much many other poems have
Some would say it did not have the essence
No brilliant language
No striking metaphor
I wrote a good poem yesterday
For what I can do
I suspect for many it will seen not much at all
But I did write a good poem yesterday
For what I can do.
