If Poem by Euan Voo

If

What if.
What if there wasn't pain?
What if there wasn't sin?
What if there wasn't shame?
What if it hadn't been?
What if.
What if the leaf never fell
From Nature's nurtured branches?
What if a knife could tell?
I could end this and save the bruises.
What if.
What if the tiger didn't die,
The beast couldn't save himself;
The bullet like an arrow,
Swiftly shoots and flies past-
As silent as the assassin
It hits the heart hard.
Another soul exorcised into the hands of Hell.
The tiger prowls no more.
Men cannot fathom:
What if the tiger had a voice?
Men do not care.
Oblivious as they have always been.
What if.
What if the dead had a tomorrow?
What if the broken had a chance?
What if Love never came with sorrow?
What if we could forgive more than once?
What if lies never come with pain?
What if guilt never came with shame?
What if forgiveness never had an end?
What if? What now? What then?
