Let Me Take Over Poem by Euan Voo

Let Me Take Over

Black tears roll down
Your white feminine face:
Sliding down your cheekbones,
Synchronized in perfect cadence,
This painting of your face is the
symmetry of sorrow;
I'll lick them,
I'll gulp them,
I'll drink them-
I'll drink you, in your innocence,
The teary salt of pain crystallizes
In my mouth,
The cry of your soul is
The haunting, lingering aftertaste:
In your nakedness,
I swallowed them.

The knife in hand,
Blades of cursed callous indifference:
Stainless steel capturing your gaze,
Your reflection shimmers into the eye
Of your shadow, the Medusa resurrected
From the hollow of your stoned soul:
I'll steal them,
I'll snatch then,
I'll break them:
Break you, in your foolishness,
The shadow in your soul screaming
To be released, that voice of Satan you
Choose to hear will grant you the joy
Of eternal torment, death;
You feign the demon's smile, your
smirk into my face is like a blast of wind
That pulls me away from you, as my
Echo for you to wake up from
Your Grief's chokehold starts to
Dissipate into the walls of
Still silence:
In your nakedness,
I clothed you.

But the red streams
gush out into your cotton dress,
I couldn't stop you in time, I'm left
With the sad strokes of a painting,
Like the line splitting the world of
Mona Lisa-
Shattering my silenced heart,
And torments my inner soul:
I'll hold them
I'll take them
I'll touch them-
Touch you, in your vulnerability,
The dress of your life splits at the
Seams, your satin clothes
Fall off, and I see
The skeleton you left behind:
In your nakedness,
I felt them.

Pinked creases eclipsed by
Blue-blackened patches,
these pulsing wounds lay open:
They are littered all around your
Body: Big beautiful black holes
Harmonize with the melody
Of tortured years, the melody
You painfully say made you
Survive the broken dreams,
Piece together the shattered
Years:
I'll close them
I'll stitch them
I'll seal them-
Seal you, in your brokenness,
I'll seal the gaping wound you marked
With the fingers of your desperation;
I'll sew back the fabric of your skin
Tainted with life's imperfections:
In your nakedness
I saw them.

Will you let me, linger?
Will you let me, take over?
I will be here for you.
Reject me,
Despise me,
Forsake me,
But I will be there.
My door will always be open,
For you.

I feel you;

I know you:

I love you.
