If I Do Not Rise Poem by Alex Cairnie

If I Do Not Rise

If I do not rise tomorrow
Do not be sad for me
My life was lived in far off lands
And plenty I did see

If I do not rise tomorrow
Do not have regret
My time on earth was not in vain
So do not weep just yet

If I do not rise tomorrow
Do not forget my name
Keep a candle in your soul
And I will do the same

If I do not rise tomorrow
Promise you shan't weep
I lived every day a life
And now it's time I sleep
