If I Had A Poem



IF I HAD A POEM
If I had a poem
I would write it
But I have no poem-
I write this
And pretend it is a poem
Or better: try to make it into a poem
For it seems I need a poem now
Despite the warm sun
And the beautiful day
And the lightness and light everywhere
I need to think
I am writing a poem now
Whether it is real or not
It is not for me
But for you to judge-
