If You Knew Poem by Silent Soliloquy

If You Knew

If you knew the hours spent
Longing for your touch;
The days and nights I've
Dreamed of you
Wanting you, so much

Would you remain within yourself
Aloof, remote, alone
A man who keeps his distance
Tending his heart of stone

What secrets do you hold
What pain is buried deep
Is love the very reason
Afraid of what you'll reap

I've tried so hard to win your heart
I thought that it was clear
How can you refuse the love
that lingers now so near

If words alone could win your heart
I'd shout them to the sky
Please, open up your heart to me;
Give love just one more try
