If You Lie To Me Poem by Randy McClave

If You Lie To Me

If you lie to me
Do you really think that I am that senseless,
If you lie to me
Do you think that I am offenseless.
I am not gullible or stupid as you might believe and think,
And into stupidity or ignorance I won't sink.

If you lie to me
Your soul you are only truly hurting,
If you lie to me
My trust in you is quickly deserting.
I will then be prepared for your very next lie,
Truth, is the one thing that no one can ever deny.

If you lie to me
In you I will soon stop believing,
If you lie to me
I will then know that you are again deceiving.
One lie I believe is always one lie to many,
I would then see you as a very bad penny.

If you lie to me
I would then think twice about what you ever did say,
If you lie to me
For you I would then sincerely pray.
If you continue lying, in you I would lose all faith and trust,
In you I would only see deception, ignorance and disgust.

If you lie to me
Who else would you also lie to,
If you lie to me
Do you feel good for the pain that you put me through.
Will you tell those same lies to God Almighty,
Or on judgement day will you pretend to be flighty.

If you lie to me
Do you think that I'm that gullible and naive,
If you lie to me
Do just relish and enjoy to use and to deceive.
If I believed in the thousands of lies making up your total worth,
Then I would indeed be the stupidest person on this Earth.
