In Faces And Places Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In Faces And Places

In faces and places,
I have lived to travel.
And experienced to me shown.
No one I met to know or knew,
Was an S.O.B.
Or born to have a mother,
I would ever disrespect.

And in my life to live it,
As I age to grow older.
Done to believe,
I never hear heard...
Anyone sitting in a leadership position,
Describe countries,
Pillaged and stripped...
Of their resources called,
'Sh*t hole countries'.
And applauded and cheered,
By those whose ancestors...
Were never born here.
Nor spoken the language at all.

Yet...
Because,
They were not caucasian.
Or thieves, deceivers.
Corrupted celebrated crooks.
They were mocked, disenfranchised.
And even compared to compete against.
By the very ones,
These days who dare to protest and declare...
Themselves more deserving to entitlements.
With this to do few can prove,
Their actions to claim them patriotic.
Has no evidence that produces,
Service performed...
To the country they disgrace.
Or...
A minute of their time,
Volunteering it to uplift...
Humanity to believe and accept,
As their duty.

And representing them,
In positions of leadership...
Are the ones they choose and pick,
To impress with image to give it.
The image of greed, materialistic values.
With this done at the best of deception.
Done to do and to believe,
Those they stand on backs to crack.
Regardless of their skin color,
Brown to be a mixture of white and black.
Should enjoy that.
As if to be disparaged,
Oppressed and treated inhumane...
Is a blessing to have it done.

In faces and places,
To witness found around the World.
What does it take to awaken people,
Too asleep and deep in fiction that deludes...
The presence of reality and truth.
To feed upon fantasy.
While approving the decaying of their minds!
Observed in faces and places.
Fighting desperately,
For the power to have believe...
Their destructive activities,
Are done from a consciousness leaving.
