In The Manger Poem by Nwagboso Kosisochukwu

In The Manger

The twinkling stars and smiling crescent
The proud sun and the colorful rainbow
Whirlwind and cooling ocean breeze
I request you a guide to Bethlehem

Wait! Wait! ! I say wait! ! !
I summoned you all
So push me not around
For it seems some friends with me wud go

Let’s go friends, let’s reach first
Before the angels, the magi and shepherds
To be the first to have a closer look
Of the baby delivered in the manger

Oh! All before us ‘ve arrived
Yet the sun still on the pen stands
Let’s then our gifts offer
To Mary and the father let’s speak

Can you see in the manger?
The marriagement of kings, princess, pigs, sheep, vipers and lions
The yellow princess invites all, to bath pigs, feed the viper
She is doved to serve their differences

To tell you what you know not
In this Bethlehem I‘ve lay my head
Beside this very manger I’ve eaten
I’ve seen Mary and the father

I saw that kid now well grown
Though with a silver spoon born
Yet feeds on herds
Never minds petting the sheep

In that manger of silver and gold
Lives the kid in Bethlehem of straws and duns
Feeds the sick sheep with loyal dish
‘T times starves as a result in the manger

Take my gifts, take our gifts
O poor little, grown manger dove
Trim your thorns, water your flowers
Master yourself and live in the manger
