Incompetence And Nepotism Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Incompetence And Nepotism

Incompetence to define it,
Is quicker to observe these days.
Than explaining how it can occur.
And allowed to be possible.
When those selected and picked,
To sit in decision making positions.
Are often related to one another.
And should but seldom know,
What being competent is or means.

"Hmmm...
But isn't that nepotism?
That's what that sounds like to me.
So...
What is the difference between,
Being incompetent and nepotism? "

Today?
No difference at all.
The same results,
Continue to be repeatedly achieved.
But nepotism is unlikely to be noticeable.
That to discover often takes an audit.

"Okay.
So what's an audit? "

That happens when folks begin,
Probing over records kept by a business.
Or sometimes a non-profit organization.
To then declare their findings by saying...
'You all 'ought' not be doing this.
To know it ought not be the right thing to do.'

Incompetence and incompetence are the mother and father of the ills or the evils of our society: corruption, theft, injustice, racism, discrimination, bigotry and more. I am accountant; I know exactly what you're talking about.

You're right, bro. I am also an accountant. During my career, I have seen a lot. Incompetence and nepotism, you're talking about the mother and father of all evils or the ills of our society: corruption, racism, discrimination, injustice, bigotry, hypocrisy and more.
