Innocence~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Innocence~

Rating: 4.9

On this day
Along the west-side highway of life
I am transported
As if, in the white fluff clouds- of yesterday
To my childhood-
Where there were cherry and apple trees plentiful
Hop scotch til the da was done
Madam Alexander Dolls and dressup
The hide and seek of neighborhood friends
Rolling down our grassy green hill-over and over
Of card table tents
Of sleeping out 'neath a blanket of stars
Hugs and kisses and assurances
That mama and daddy will always love me
Oh the memories- -oh the love! !
