Irritating Presence Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Irritating Presence

When an irritating presence,
Loses this significance...
To no longer irritate.
Yet continues to instigate,
A menacing threat.
Wanted desperately to forget.
By those who supported,
Such immature and childish...
B.S.
But...
Fear to confess publicly to it.
Since this would end,
Their careers...
As professional politicians.
This mess they have created,
Will be regretted for decades.
To suffer mentally.
By the very ones who today,
Actually believe...
Diversity and what it is,
To represent ethnicity.
Can be restricted to limits,
As those with minds...
That can not move beyond,
Stupidity as a goal...
Long ago to have reached!
