It Is All In My Head. Poem by Asha Saraswathy

It Is All In My Head.

Rating: 5.0

I am the earth.
In my mindscape, vast arid deserts throb
creating non-existent oases.
Lush green meadows of my dreams with their myriad life forms
play out a thousand dances.
In the evergreen forests of my imagination,
a thousand blooms open, only to wilt in raging forest fires of doubt.
My despair morphs into
storms and typhoons
destroying my being
Scaling my thought summits leaves me dizzy and gasping
I melt into gurgling streams of poetry and art.
My deep blue oceans hide Mariana trenches
unfathomable.
The currents of my emotions create unexpected fogs marring vision.
My tectonic plates of rationality and feelings move, causing ravaging earthquakes
Through the fissures flow out anger lava consuming sanity.
My attitude latitudes create zones; torrid, temperate and frigid, and I know
I am the earth.

A beautiful description of earth. I don't know whether it's first submission on this website or it's the first poem of the poetess. In any case it's wonderful...................10
