It Is Christ Poem by Gary James Smith

It Is Christ

Rating: 5.0

It Is Christ 10: 23 AM

It is Christ and Christ alone
That satisfies my sins demand
For death my sentence, I was undone
On my own I could not stand
All my filthy righteous rags
Were but a mock to Christ the Son
He alone could clothe me rightly
In the garments of His Salvation
He alone could clothe me rightly
In the garments of His Salvation

It is Christ and Christ alone
That did the work on my behalf
He took my place at Calvary
And took in full the Father's wrath
All I deserved was now forgiven
A clean slate to start anew
What He did was to His glory
And He can do the same for you
What He did was to His glory
And He can do the same for you

It is Christ and Christ alone
The Good Shepherd leads us on
With a hope that is eternal
He is our...Hallelujah song
I cannot breathe but seek to praise Him
My eyes of faith are now transfixed
On the One who sealed my pardon
My sin problem has now been fixed
On the One who sealed my pardon
My sin problem has now been fixed

It is Christ and Christ alone
No other name has such power
His love superceeds above any other
He's available at any hour
It is Christ and Christ alone
How I praise God for that name
If any soul calls upon Him
He will never be the same
If any soul calls upon Him
He will never be the same! ! ! !

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
