It's better this way
we don't have to hide;
at different times of day
to see our other side.

I was never much at ease
when trying to evade;
but now that we have ceased
the relationship will fade.

It's better this way
I feel I can breathe easy;
I never meant to stray
it made me feel quite queasy.

Secret trysts are not my style
when it comes to romance;
I feel guilty all the while
in this part of life's dance.

It's better this way
let us laugh and stay apart;
tomorrow is another day
we won't break each other's hearts.
