So step forward now
a pace or two
its time for the final bow

Bright lights await
your smiling face
as you pass through the imaginary gate

You've spent your life
pursuing your elder's dreams for you
letting their will your strife

You love what you do
but still you imagine
of all the things you hoped for too

Like when you were four
and wanted to be a dentist
collected your your teeth many a more

Or the age of ten
and you know you'd garden
even if it meant pulling weeds again and again

many hopes and many dreams
always came and went
but the one that stuck-being part of a surgical team

But your parents didn't believe in you
'its a man's job! 'they said
then like a fly told you to shoo!

An actress now you followed their lead
sang the song, danced the dance, and was always someone else
and now its their mouths to feed

On stage now you Imagine
how life could have been
but you cannot dwell in the past, only move forward

maybe someday you'll have kin? !
