Just Outside Poem by Rick Elpers

Just Outside

While watching movies
I came to believe
Myself to be in one

Drama humor intrigue
All that mirrors life
Then it's over

Strangely I see what appears
To be that I do live
In the fictional

As those around
Leave with little
or no thought

Split popcorn droplets of soda
Lifting not a help
To clean up or sympathize

Until they care for
The next chapter living
Temporarily as me

But the on going story
Unfolds without anyone
Truly knowing involving

Just comfortably viewing
As I stumble into another
Comedy of errors
