Katrina Poem by Dianna Wilder

Katrina

Rating: 5.0

No food,
no water,
no sanitation-
Katrina had sturck!

Water rushes in;
the people now homeless,
wondering, waiting for 'Hope.'

Children horrified as they
search for parents,
someone to care for them!

Days later,
'Hope' finally arrives
in food, water, the necessities of life.

Life as we know it,
now gone forever.
What lies ahead for these people? ?

The poorest of poor,
searching for 'Hope.'
Americans once again bind together.

As they open their hearts,
sending supplies, money
and prayers.

A poignant portrait of a plight......that did not have to be. A disgusting situation.....born of governmental neglect!
