Lost Island Poem by Dianna Wilder

Lost Island

There's this lost island that no one seems to find.
It's been in the ocean since the beginning of time.
Butterflies big as blue Jays and seagulls of every shade.
Red, pink and orange, magenta, teal and jade.

The weather's so clear it seems to never end.
Palm trees with coconuts that sway in the wind.
Fish as big as submarines that come up to the top.
A lovely gentle breeze that never seems to stop.

The sand is pink, it feels like silk.
The coconuts are filled with cool, sweet milk.
The sky is blue and clear as a bell.
Exquisite flowers with a fragrant smell.

There's treasure hidden deep that no one will ever find.
'Black diamonds, ' they're called, every shape, and every kind!
Men have searched long and hard, but no one can succeed.
They always lose their way or fall prey to their own greed!

This island comes to men in their dreams at night.
But it all seems to vanish in the morning light.
There's this lost island that no one seems to find.
It's been in the ocean since the beginning of time.
