Let Me Down Poem by Tessa Eichhorst

Let Me Down

I've only known you for awhile. At first
I was off-standish about your antics,
but than I grew to be intrigued by all
that you do and all that you are.

Lately I've been confused and unsure of
how to take your looks, your mannerisms.
I've never been this far in before, too far
to just let you go and forget you exist.

All I ask is you be forward with me, don't
lead me on, don't give me false hope or
misdirection. I believe in who you are and
who you could become. Just please, all I
ask is that you don't let me down, shove
me aside, or continue to give me that
butterfly feeling.

I do care for you, in a friend way, but some
day it could be more. So please be yourself
around me and don't hide things from me
because I'd hate for you to let me down.
