Letting Go..(Trying To) Poem by Brianna Townsend

All this time I was hoping you would come around,
I gave you chance after chance and all you ever did was let me down.
I can't believe I actually let it get this far,
Because now I can see who you really are.

Do you like making me feel so small,
When you knew I would ALWAYS give you my all?
Do you like taking my heart and breaking it in two,
When you knew I would do anything just for you?

All the nights I cried myself to sleep,
Cause it was you I wanted to keep.
I let you walk all over me,
when I knew exactly how it would be.

I believed everything you had to say,
Because I thought maybe you would mean it one day.
But again, I guess I was all wrong,
And maybe I should just move along.

I mean that's what you would do
It wouldn't matter how much you already put me through, it's really nothin new.
I'm not going to cry anymore,
cause I know there is someone who will pick up the pieces you left lying on the floor.

It's amazing how you move on so fast
HA! Kinda brings back the past.
I'm so tired of being hurt by you,
and playing your stupid games too.

You took everything I ever had,
and i'm not ending this feeling a tiny bit bad.
You let the best thing that ever happened to you go,
and that is your fault, I do believe so.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad,
cause to be honest; I'm really not that sad.
I see the girl you're with today,
and i will never be that way.

I know exactly why you left me for her,
You say it's my parents...Oh I''m sure!
Yep! You succeeded once again, but that's exactly what i get,
for thinking you were it.

I'm not going to say goodbye,
Cause to be honest that would probably make me cry.
You're not worth anymore of my tears,
It's time I face all my fears.

Thinking about all the good times we had,
Hmmm i guess that's too bad.
There are so many more things I want to say,
But it's not worth another second of my day.
